An Oregon man was injured Sunday, September 15, 2024, when he was hit by his own vehicle.

Walter E. Bryant, 70, of Oakland, Oregon, was southbound on I-29 at 10:31 p.m. when he pulled over at the 120 mile marker, exited the vehicle, and fell. The 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Bryant was driving began to roll southbound and struck him. The vehicle continued to roll southbound and went off the west side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Bryant sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Community Hospital-Fairfax by ambulance. The vehicle received minor damage and was towed by Double M Towing.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. J. D. Schmedding. He was assisted by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office and Atchison-Holt Ambulance Service.
