Phyllis Arlene Jackson, the daughter of Harry and Hesper (Carpenter) Falconer, was born November 10, 1927, in Ithaca, New York. She attended Mound City High School, Mound City, Missouri.

On February 3, 1946, Phyllis was united in marriage to Herman Leroy Jackson in Troy, Kansas. They became the parents of four children, David, Jerry, Martha, and Tracy. Herman passed away in 1993.

Phyllis was a homemaker. Later, she was employed by Tarkio Elementary where she worked as a custodian. She was a member of OATS Bus Committee, Tarkio United Methodist Church, Tarkio, Missouri, and Young at Heart. Phyllis was also a member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Auxiliary #199, Tarkio.

Phyllis enjoyed decorating, making wreaths, and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Phyllis passed away Friday, September 13, 2024, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, at the age of 96.

Besides her parents and husband, Herman Jackson, Phyllis was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Shirley Jackson; grandson, Tyler Jackson; and siblings, Fred and Bob Falconer, Adeline Jackson, and Doug Falconer. Survivors include children, David Jackson, Mound City, Jerry (Janie) Jackson, Oregon, Missouri, Martha (Denny) Mendenhall, Kremlin, Oklahoma, and Tracy (Terry) Whitaker, Tarkio; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. Interment was at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Davis Funeral Home for final expenses. Arrangements were under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
