The Rock Port R-II Board of Education held a regular meeting Wednesday, September 11, 2024. President Regan Griffin called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Other board members in attendance were  Afton Schomburg, Joanna Burke, Troy Cook, Jared Meyerkorth, Kayla Sierks and Reven Herron (via Zoom). Also present were Superintendent Rex Bollinger, Elementary Principal Steve Waigand, High School Principal Donnie Parsons, and Board Secretary Jennifer Welch. Guests present were Kelcie Gaines, Garrison Dodge, Erika Murry, Heaven Sanders, Clara Hunter, Jennifer Vogler, Cindie Driskell, Marissa Whitt, Jamie Lansdown, LoryAnne Daugherty, and Paige Ralph.

The agenda was adopted and the minutes of the regular meeting August 15, 2024, were approved. Dr. Bollinger reviewed the financial information for the month ending August 2024. The August final check register was approved.

During scheduled audience, the new staff members introduced themselves.

Dr. Waigand and Mr. Parsons gave the elementary and high school reports. Dr. Bollinger presented the monthly program evaluation report on preschool and health services.

Dr. Bollinger also gave a construction update.

The board proceeded to address several new items of business. Action was taken to approve the 2024 – 2025 bus routes, the 2024 – 2025 ACES agreement, and  accept the mental health grant/agreement. Consideration was given to the TABS Committee appointments.

The CSIP review was discussed.

Board members voted to move to executive session in accordance with RSMo.610.021 Sub-section (3), (13) Personnel Matters at 8:09 p.m. The meeting returned to open session at 9:11 p.m.

Board members voted to employ Melissa Comstock as an elementary custodian for the 2024-2025 school year.

Following discussion of future business items, the meeting was adjourned at 9:12 p.m.
