The Rock Port Park Board met September 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order by President Sheena Roup at 6:34 p.m. Members present were Crystal Goins, Jax Lutz, Clint Dougherty, and Amber Graham (via phone).

The meeting agenda was approved.

Approval of financials was tabled.

Park Update

There was no update on wood chips at this time. Jax will also be looking into the playground pad that some area parks have for their playground areas.

Park Board members voted to contract with Rick Harrington for removing and sealing the toilet in the park restroom that is causing issues.

There were no updates from Councilman Graves or the company regarding an installation date for the toddler playground.

There was discussion of fees being charged for use of park facilities for events starting in the 2025 season.

Pool Update

ACCO is closing the pool mid to late September and opening in mid-May for the 2025 season.

The Park Board discussed hiring and training guards earlier if possible. Crystal is in contact with a few places with indoor pools to get this training done.

The next meeting will be October 9 at 6:00 p.m. in Sheena’s classroom.
