The Atchison County Commission met for a special session Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.
Month-end department reports were reviewed and approved.
ACDC Director Monica Bailey and Megan Miller with Gillmore and Bell were present to meet with the commission, Clerk Taylor, Assessor Long, and Collector Livengood to review a TIF presentation on a potential new business. Megan gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on how the TIF process would be administered. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Bailey will gather some preliminary information and report back to the commission once they hear from the developer.
The commission voted to appoint Curtis Livengood as the voting delegate from the commission for the 2024 Missouri Association of Counties annual meeting. Ballots were provided by Clerk Taylor to select the additional voting delegates. Atchison County will be allowed four delegates for 2024.
Kenny Wallace, Assistant Road and Bridge Supervisor, was in to update the commission on road matters.
The commission will travel to Chillicothe on Thursday to attend the Northwest Commissioners meeting.
