The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri, Inc. recently announced that Monica Bailey has joined the Board of Directors.

Monica is the Executive Director of Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC), where she encourages economic and community development, focusing primarily on business retention and creation, emerging workforce career programs, community improvement projects, and saying #ACisAwesome as often as possible.

A native of Tarkio, Missouri, Monica headed to Mizzou after graduation, earning a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies (rural sociology, psychology and family studies) and a master’s degree in public administration.  A dozen years later, after spending a year in Maine with her husband Keith, Monica returned to Atchison County.

Monica is an active member of several regional and state organizations and has served in leadership positions for Northwest Missouri Roundtable of Economic Developers, Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation, Great Northwest Day at the Capitol, and Missouri Economic Development Council. She is active in her local church and is on the Atchison County Salvation Army Board.

In 2023, Monica was recognized as one of Ingram’s “50 Missourians You Should Know,” which was fun, but not as fun as living in the county that raised her. Monica resides in Rock Port, Missouri, with her husband, Keith (originally from Boston), and their son, Jack (in middle school already), and loves Missouri Tiger football, Boston Bruins hockey, all temperatures below 60, and watching her kid do what he loves.

Also joining the board of directors are Lindsey B. Holcumbrink, a native of Gower, Missouri, and an attorney at Taylor Siemens Elliott Creedy & Lyle P.C., and Joshua Strong, originally from Harrisonville, Missouri, who runs a successful Edward Jones office in Cameron, Missouri.
