East Atchison traveled to Stewartsville, Missouri, Friday, October 4, to take on the WildCards.
EA wasted no time putting points on the board following the opening kick-off. Receiver Owen DeRosier caught a big pass over the middle to set up the Wolves for their first touchdown from Blake Simmons to Gavyn Irvine. Simmons’ two point conversion was good making it 8-0. The Wolves kicked an onside kick and executed it perfectly with Irvine recovering the ball, setting the Wolves up for their next touchdown from Simmons to Cameron Kephart.
The WildCards would try about everything to get things going on the offensive side of the ball, but the Wolves’ defense proved to be too much, keeping the WildCards out of the end zone until late in the fourth quarter when they managed to connect on a long pass.
River Dow, Owen DeRosier and Gavyn Irvine all had one touchdown and Cameron Kephart would have four before the night was over. Blake Simmons would take a shot to the knee in the first half and would not return. DeRosier and company would finish out the game as quarterback.
The Wolves host DeKalb this Friday night, October 11, for their homecoming game.
