Sonna Aileen Lane, the daughter of Theodore W. and Leona E. (Smith) Davis, was born September 16, 1938, in Langdon, Missouri. She attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1956.

In 1957, Sonna was united in marriage to Warren “Bud” Lane. They became the parents of four sons, Phil, Dave, Tim, and Ted. Bud passed away in 2013.

Sonna was employed by Peoples Natural Gas, Tarkio, Missouri, in customer service. In 1984, she transferred to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she retired in 2000.

Sonna loved staying active. She would go for walks and paint outdoor yard art. Sonna enjoyed attending family reunions and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Sonna passed away October 8, 2024, at Oregon Care Center, Oregon, Missouri, at the age of 86.

Besides her parents and husband, Bud Lane, Sonna was preceded in death by sisters, Dorthy Schomburg, Evelyn Brusha, Eva Tupa, and Esther Perry. Survivors include children, Phil Lane, Liberty, Missouri, Dave (Gail) Lane, Oregon, Tim Lane, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Ted (Carol Giannetta) Lane, St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Ian, Halle, Damian, Tara, and Cory; great-grandchildren, Tanea, Kobi, Serenity, and Xavier; siblings, Donal Davis, Lois Douglass, Anna Clark, and Helen McPherson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service and inurnment for Sonna and Bud will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port, conducted by Pastor Devon Sons. Memorials may be directed to Hunter Cemetery. There is no scheduled family visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
