
Donald Ray Wennihan, age 87, Craig, Missouri, died Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at his home.
Don was born July 10, 1937, in Tarkio, Missouri. He was the son of John Ray and Ruth Angela (Davenport) Wennihan.
Don was a graduate of Craig High School class of 1955. After high school Don received vocational training where he learned to operate heavy equipment of all kinds.
On November 14, 1959, Don was united in marriage to Beverly Joan Gregory Martin. They became the parents of four children: Angie, Dona, Marty, and Ryan. Beverly passed away on December 3, 1980.
On September 8, 1984, he was united in marriage to Bridget VanGundy. She survives him of the home in Craig.
Don enjoyed doing many things, some of which included farming both with livestock and row crops, operating heavy equipment, carpentry, and he had worked as the parts manager for Heck Implement in Mound City, Missouri. He had also attended the First Church of God in Craig all his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Beverly; and a son, Timothy Ryan Wennihan.
His survivors include wife, Bridget Yolanda (VanGundy) Wennihan; children, Angela Joan Stone, Dona Rae (Rick) Kemerling, Jon Martin Wennihan, Trisha Leigh (James) Quimby, and Benjamin Wade Simmons; grandchildren, Beverly Jenea’ Salmond, Kody Levi (Laura) Kemerling, Eli Ray Stone, Ian Tyler Stone, Kaleigh Brooke (Carmelo) Calandro, Lauren Nicole Quimby, Cassidy Rae Wennihan, Tanner Ryan Wennihan, and Blake William Wesley Simmons; great-grandchildren, Maria Isabel Kemerling, Micaela Christine Kemerling, Delaney Ray Massey, Samuel Paul Massey, Mathew David Massey, Nevaeh Raeanne Hart, Noah Ryan Kemerling, Ryann Jane Salmond, Ellee Rae Salmond, Vincent James Calandro, Beckett Easton Lee Calandro, and MayLeah LaRae Curtis; siblings, Shirley (Gary) Bussard, Gary Wennihan, Marcia (Steve) Umbarger, Fred (Janet) Wennihan, and Greg (Janet) Wennihan; nieces, nephews, and a host of other friends and loved ones.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 21, 2024, at the First Church of God, Craig, Missouri. Interment was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax, Missouri. Memorials may be given to the First Church of God, 205 East 4th Street, Craig, MO 64437. Arrangements were under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home Fairfax/Craig.
