The Missouri State High School Activities Association Class 1 Girls’ Golf Championship Tournament was held at Crown Pointe (par 72) in Farmington, Missouri, Monday and Tuesday, October 21 and 22, 2024. Four Atchison County golfers competed in the event and one, Sydnee Bruns, medalled and earned All-State recognition with her 13th place finish. Eighty-nine girls competed in the event this year.

East Atchison senior Sydnee Bruns scored an 89 the first day and a 93 the second for a total of 182, tying for 13th. This was Sydnee’s fourth trip to state and third state medal. Sophomore Danika Agnew shot a 102 the first day and a 106 the second for a total of 208, placing 42nd (3-way tie). This was Danika’s first year golfing and she qualified for state, which is quite an achievement!

Rock Port junior Emma Teten scored a 108 the first day and a 112 the second for a total of 220, placing 70th (tie). Freshman Karlie Gebhards golfed a 120 the first day and a 110 the second for a total of 230, placing 82nd. Both girls were competing for the Lady Blue Jays at the state level for the first time. This was Karlie’s first year golfing and she qualified for state, which is quite an accomplishment! All four girls should be commended for a job well done.
