Atchison County Clerk Susette Taylor gave the Girl Scouts a mock ballot so they could learn how voting is done. By the end of the night, the girls had earned their democracy badges.
Tarkio Girl Scouts earned their democracy badge with the help of Tarkio City Clerk Danielle Madron, Matt Barry (Sam Graves’ field representative), and Atchison County Clerk Susette Taylor on Tuesday evening, October 22, 2024. Dhani gave a tour of City Hall, Matt talked about Washington, D.C., and how bills are made, and Susette talked about Election Day and everything that goes with it. She checked the voter IDs the girls had made and gave them a ballot to complete a mock vote.
