• A large crowd attended the Daleview program and carnival Friday evening. Mrs. Wayne Schooler had good luck and won the bushel basket of groceries. Mrs. Will Thiesfeld got the blanket and Sam Burns got the turkey.
• Toys and gifts galore advertised at Melvin Bros. Home and Auto Supply Store include: typewriter, $3.98; doll stroller, $1.98; mechanical food mixer, $2.98; Firestone electric roaster, $36.95; Majorette table radio, $24.88; Dormeyer power chef electric mixer, meat grinder, and juicer, $39.95; and Lady Dover electric room heater, $5.49.
• Showing at The Fair Theatre in Fairfax: “Bring ’Em Back Alive,” “The Stratton Story” with James Stewart and June Allyson, and “Caught” with James Mason and Barbara Bel Geddes.

• Eighty-one people attended the regular monthly carry-in supper of the Over 60 Club Monday night at the Masonic Hall. Turkey and all the trimmings were served. Mrs. Opal Scott sang “Bless This House.” Mrs. Scott and Perry Scott on the piano led everyone in singing old songs and ended with “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”
• Editor-in-Chief of this year’s Fairfax High School Guardian yearbook is Debbie Miller. Marilyn Jones is her assistant. Business manager is Pam Shaw and Jony Lawrence is her assistant. Brenda Hawkins is the circulation manager and Sharon Swindler will assist her.
• About 160 people attended the dedication of the second bus of the Baptist Church November 24. This bus is one of the arms of evangelism to bring people to Sunday school and church. Dean Wiley is the driver with Lois Wiley as the bus captain and Jo Beth Wiley as the bus secretary.
• Specials at Hunter’s Hy-Klas Store in Fairfax include: Pringles family sized three-pack, $1.19; Crisco all-vegetable oil, 3-lb. can, $1.98; Hy-Klas or Budget bread, four 16-oz. loaves for $1; and lean and meaty spare ribs, 89¢ per pound.

• Kirkwood Volleyball Association has announced that Fairfax Lady Bulldog freshman Katie Heitman has been named a Missouri High School Volleyball Championships 1999 Class 1-A Outstanding Player. The selection criteria encompasses player attitude, sportsmanship, team play, energy, and display of superior volleyball skills during the championship tournament.
• Grace Finch of Fairfax showed off her Christmas cactus Wednesday, November 10. Grace has had the plant for several years but says it has never bloomed so pretty and full as this.
• The Fairfax Wolverine 4-H Club planted a tree next to the Pearce building on Main Street in Fairfax that will be decorated for Christmas each year. Craig McAdams with Grounds Control of Tarkio helped the following 4-H members plant the tree: Nikki Graves, Mary Gilbert, Jess Salmond, and John Gilbert.
• Fairfax Early Childhood students visited R&L Grocery store in Fairfax Wednesday, November 17, to buy items for vegetable soup. Roger Pennel, owner, also gave the following students a tour of the store: River Bradbury, Nicholas Simmons, Benny Stark (kindergarten student who helped with the project), Heather BeBout, Aleesha Ball, Nikita Gladman, and Dennis Stammer.
