Miss Lauren Clark’s Fairfax R-3 Preschool students recently shared their ideas on “How to cook a Thanksgiving Turkey (recipe not kitchen tested).” Some of their recipes are a bit entertaining!
“Get a turkey from the barn. Before you cook it you need to put seasoning on it. Cook the turkey at 5 degrees for 6 days. The turkey is done when it brings the stove. You can eat ice cream, bananas, and pot pies with the turkey. For dessert you can eat ice cream and chicken. Happy Thanksgiving!” – Dani Boyle (4 years old)
“Get a turkey at my house. Before you cook it you need to cook it with ham. Cook the turkey at 1 degree for 20 years. The turkey is done when you cook it and put it on the band. You can eat potatoes and ketchup with the turkey. For dessert you can eat candy. Happy Thanksgiving!” – Xavion Pinzino (3 years old)
“Get a turkey from the farm. Before you cook it you need to put it in the oven. Cook the turkey at 20 degrees for 20 seconds. The turkey is done when it beeps. You can eat ham and sugar with the turkey. For dessert you can eat ice cream. Happy Thanksgiving!” – Claire Oswald (5 years old)
“Get a turkey from the hay. Before you cook it you need to hunt for it and shoot it. Cook the turkey at 6 degrees for 14 or 15 hours. The turkey is done when it beeps. You can eat salt, sausage, and yogurt with the turkey. We could squeeze it on the turkey! For dessert you can eat ice cream and chocolate flamingo cake. “Get a turkey at HyVee. Before you cook it you need to get the pan and put it in the oven. Cook the turkey at 1 degree for 5 minutes. The turkey is done when you get it out of the oven. You can eat ham with the turkey. I don’t like fruit. For dessert you can eat cookies. Happy Thanksgiving!” – Addie Rafe (4 years old)
“Get a turkey at the farm. Before you cook it you need to put it on a pan and cook it. Cook the turkey at 3 degrees for 3, 4, 5, 6, 11 days. The turkey is done when like 6:30. You can eat ham and cheese, ramen noodles, hot dogs, macaroni, pizza and the last thing is juice with the turkey. For dessert you can eat pancakes, ice cream, and pie. “Get a turkey at the dollar store. Before you cook it you need to put some ingredients in it. Cook the turkey at 100 degrees for 14 seconds. The turkey is done when 64 minutes. You can eat sloppy joes and s’ghetti with the turkey. For dessert you can eat s’ghetti o’s. Happy Thanksgiving!” – Patrick Swenson (4 years old)
“Get a turkey at a farm. Before you cook it you need to cut it. Cook the turkey at 5 degrees for 4 minutes. The turkey is done when my sister tells me. You can eat hot dogs, salad, and corn with the turkey. For dessert you can eat doughnuts, cookies, and mushrooms. Happy Thanksgiving!” – Cammie White (5 years old)
“Get a turkey from my brother. Before you cook it you need to put it on the pan. Cook the turkey at 60 degrees for 5 minutes. The turkey is done when it’s beeping. You can eat corn, lettuce, and broccoli with the turkey. For dessert you can eat ice cream, cookies, and cupcakes. Happy Thanksgiving!” – Audrey Zumbrunnen (4 years old)
