East Atchison high school basketball teams will be hosting the 93rd annual Fairfax Invitational Basketball Tournament January 13-18, 2024, at Fairfax High School. Check out the tournament bracket in this week’s newspaper for game times. During the event, the Fairfax Music Boosters will be holding fundraisers, including “Buck-A-Duck” and a bake sale to raise funds for the band’s trip to Branson in the spring. Concessions will also be available.

Old Man Winter stopped by this weekend for a chat, but his brief stopover may have saved us from getting much of what surrounding communities in Missouri received. Thank you to our first responders and city and county crews who braved the elements to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
