The Rock Port R-II Board of Education held a regular meeting Tuesday, January 14, 2025. President Regan Griffin called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Other board members in attendance were Afton Schomburg, Joanna Burke, Troy Cook, Jared Meyerkorth, Reven Herron, and Kayla Sierks. Also present were Superintendent Dr. Rex Bollinger, Elementary Principal Dr. Steve Waigand, High School Principal Donnie Parsons, and Board Secretary Jennifer Welch. Theresa Crawford was a guest.

The agenda was adopted.

Regan Griffin read the vision and mission statement of the board of education.

Board members approved the minutes from the regular meeting December 16, 2024.

Dr. Bollinger reviewed the financial information. A fund transfer from Fund 1 to Fund 2 was approved, as was the December final check register.

Dr. Bollinger read thank you notes from Kari Amthor, Richard Fentiman, and Mary Hale.

Dr. Waigand and Mr. Parsons gave the elementary and high school principals reports.

Dr. Bollinger gave his monthly program evaluation report on transportation. He also gave a survey committee update.

Board members voted to approve the consent agenda which included the first reading of the 2025-2026 calendar and setting the high school graduation date for May 18, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.

In new business, the board voted to become a pilot school for Teammates Mentoring.

Dr. Bollinger reviewed MSIP 6 Standard TL Goal 1 TL7 Strategy 2 with the board.

The board moved into executive session in accordance with RSMo.610.021 Sub-section (3), (13) Personnel Matters at 7:36 p.m.

The meeting returned to open session at 8:37 p.m.

Board members to approve the HR form as presented. The HR form included the resignation of Melissa Comstock from her maintenance position and the resignation of Nancy Nauman from her high school paraprofessional position. The HR form also included extending a 2024-2025 contract to Cassandra Krutz for the open high school paraprofessional position and a contract to Bill Kieler for the open Vo-Tech driver position. The HR form also included extending principal contracts for Dr. Waigand and Mr. Parsons until June 30, 2027.

Future business was discussed.
