The Atchison County Health Center is discontinuing its community closet. Donations will no longer be accepted after February 1st. Customers have until March 1st to shop the closet. The health department is looking for a local organization or group of individuals to take on the project, as this is a much-needed service provided to the community. Let’s hope ol’ Punxsutawney Phil does not see his shadow on Groundhog Day, February 2. Most of us are ready for spring!

If you don’t feel like cooking on Groundhog Day, the Tarkio FFA Chapter is hosting a Fish and Chicken Fry fundraiser from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the ag shop at Tarkio High School. Meals are $6 for children 12 and under and $12 for adults. The Fairfax Christian Church is hosting its annual Groundhog Day pancake supper that evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. A freewill donation will be accepted.

Rock Port High School Senior Night for basketball, cheerleading, and dance will be held on February 4.
