Jean Ann Jochim, the daughter of Lloyd and Lela (Tallant) Jackson, was born March 28, 1939, in Phelps City, Missouri. She attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1957.

On May 25, 1957, Jean was united in marriage to James E. Jochim at Albert and Mabel’s house in Watson, Missouri. They became the parents of three children, Jo Lynn, Julie, and James E., Jr. and made their home in the Watson and Rock Port area. Jim passed away in October of 2022.

Jean was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and cooking. She also loved dancing, camping, and attending Willie Nelson concerts. Jean passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 85.

Besides her parents and husband, Jim Jochim, Jean was preceded in death by 13 siblings. Survivors include children, Jo Lynn (Steve) Shineman, Rock Port, Julie (Scott) Leseberg, Rock Port, and Jim, Jr. (Rhonda) Jochim, Byron, Nebraska; grandchildren, Shannon, Trent, Shawn, Jason, Brandon, Dustin, and Eric; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. Open visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, at Minter Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The family requests casual attire for the visitation and service. Interment will be at Linden Cemetery, Rock Port. Memorials may be directed to Linden Cemetery, Rock Port. Online condolences may be left at www.minterfuneralchapels.com.
