The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, February 6, 2025. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.
Month-end department reports were reviewed and approved.
At 9:00 a.m. the commission reviewed the updated inter-governmental agreements for the Tarkio Special Road District and the Phelps City Special Road District. These are ongoing agreements with the districts to allocate their share of funding for the miles of road they each maintain. They were signed by the commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Kenny Wallace will have them signed by the districts.
The commission reviewed mini split quotes for the equipment room at the 911 office from MidWest MiniSplit Co., LLC, and Hometown Comfort, LLC. After reviewing the quotes and discussion, the commissioners unanimously voted to accept the quote from MidWest MiniSplit Co., LLC.
A liquor license application from El Patron in Rock Port for retail liquor by the drink was reviewed. The commissioners unanimously voted to approve the license.
John and Matthew Hickman with HIC, the county’s health insurance representatives, met with the commission to review any questions or concerns related to the policy. They will spend the day meeting with employees and department heads to assist with all questions and concerns.
