The East Atchison high school wrestling team was recently honored at an awards banquet. The girls and boys had a fantastic season with one wrestler, Bo Peregrine, competing at state. Several wrestlers were presented awards, recognizing them for their individual accomplishments.

Honors included: Outstanding Wrestler – Bo Peregrine and Dylan Drummond; Most Improved – Jax Peregrine and Danni Irvine; Up & Comer – Braxton Melton-Davis; Wounded Wolf – Treyton Brown and Dylan Drummond; Senior Achievement Award – Alyson Wooten; Heart and Guts Award – Danni Irvine; Miss Congeniality – Bella Bywater; Certificate of Letters – Bo Peregrine, Jax Peregrine, Braxton Melton-Davis, Aly Wooten, Dylan Drummond, Danni Irvine, and Bella Bywater.

New records set this season include: Jax Peregrine, 22 escapes; Bo Peregrine, 28 pins; Aly Wooten, fastest pin, :06 seconds and 64 career takedowns; Dylan Drummond – 12 near falls, 4 escapes, 30 near falls in career, and 3 takedowns in a match.
