
Paula Jo (Andrews) Heck, 68, passed away on March 6, 2025, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Paula was born on February 25, 1957, in Columbia, Missouri. She pursued her passion for education at the University of Missouri and Northwest Missouri State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She later continued her studies at Northwest Missouri State University, obtaining a Master’s degree in Special Education.
For 25 years, Paula dedicated herself to teaching, shaping young minds in the communities of Craig and Tarkio, Missouri. Her commitment to education and her students left a lasting impact on those she taught.
Paula is survived by her loving husband, Greg; her father, Paul; her sons, Stuart and Andrew; her daughters-in-law, Lexi and Angela; her cherished grandchildren, Robert, Anniston, Amara, and Lucy; and the mother of her oldest grandchild Kristi Scharsch and Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Jo, and her brother, Ed.
Beyond her career in education, Paula found joy in flowers, traveling, and spending time with family. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with people – she never knew a stranger – and carried an unwavering optimism that brightened the lives of those around her. She was an involved member of multiple clubs and organizations including Red Hats, TOPS, and Women of Hope.
A celebration of life will be held on March 22, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 525 Hunter Lane, Lone Jack, Missouri.
Paula’s warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her life.
