The Tarkio Elementary 4th and 5th graders presented “American Song – A Patriotic Celebration!” for family and friends Friday, April 4, 2025, in the auditorium of Tarkio High School.

Tarkio 5th graders Genesis Anaya and Linley Hogue led the rest of the students and the crowd in the “The Star Spangled Banner.”

Several students held speaking parts and all joined in celebrating America and the patriotism of its citizens.

The students sang “The Star Spangled Banner,” “We The People,” “Give My Regards to Cohan,” “Soldier, This Song I Sing For You,” “America,” and “Rap of the States.”

The 5th grade speakers were Jarrett Jackson, Jaina Murray, Ailee Ohnmacht, Joseph Nichols, Genesis Anaya, Joyce Martin, Andrew Gladman, LyNora Kimpston, Saige Dorrel, JaKaelynn Trimble, Alyce Wills, Elaine Henning, Leslie Rose, Jorja Peregrine, Victor Perez, Linley Hogue, Hannah Wennihan, Mark Sachs, Diyan Patel, Tavyn Smith, and Rose England.

The 4th grade choir included Tiberius Baruth, Holden Bruce, Dani Burke, Noah Hanseling, Elizabeth Lundy, Rayneigh Parsons, Asher Stepp, Myla Stone, Jasper Thomas, Arianna Robertson, Kiera England, Scarlett Gladman, Kenzi Howard, Lilly Maupin, Noah Oppie-Arnold, Brady Richards, Diesyl Slemp, Paxton Smith, PhaeLynn Williams, and Clark Wood.

The program was directed by music teacher Melody Barnett and her student assistant Quin Staten. Teachers Mrs. Vette, Ms. Walton, Ms. Taylor, Mrs. Ray, and Mrs. Dow also assisted.
