Everett Lee Deering, the son of Roy and Helen (Twyman) Deering, was born January 26, 1957, in Fairfax, Missouri. He attended Tarkio schools before moving to Shandon, California. Everett graduated from Shandon High School in 1975.

In 1985, Everett was united in marriage to Martha Thompson and they became the parents of one daughter, Megan, and he became stepfather to Drexel and Jerric. They later divorced.

Everett was employed by Cardiff Stud Farms, Atascadero, California, where he worked as a manager for many years. After returning to Rock Port, Missouri, he worked as a farm hand for Garst Farms and Stanton Grain until retiring.

Everett had a best friend named Rocky, a pinscher/blue heeler mix. Together, they unloaded grain trucks, hauled grain, and traveled everywhere. He enjoyed taking daily trips to the Missouri River in his “Ole 70” pickup, hunting, and fishing. Everett also loved collecting guns and gunsmithing. Everett passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 68.

Besides his parents, Everett was preceded in death by stepfather, Bud Walker, and brother-in-law, Brian Thompson. Survivors include daughter, Megan (Steve), Rock Port; stepsons, Drexel (Elsa), El Paso, Texas, and Jerric, Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Portia and Philip (Alyssa); sisters, Peggy Thompson and Carrie (Rick) Lenhoff, both of Templeton, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family graveside service and inurnment will be held at Home Cemetery, Tarkio, Missouri. There is no scheduled visitation. Memorials may be directed to Minter Funeral Chapel for final expenses. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
