Steven Smallfoot received a Quilt of Valor, made by members of the Missouri Freedom Quilters, at a ceremony held Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Rock Port United Methodist Church.
The Missouri Freedom Quilters presented a Quilt of Valor to Steven Smallfoot, Auburn, Nebraska, in a ceremony held Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Rock Port United Methodist Church.
Steven Smallfoot served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1983. He served as a Machinist Mate First Class, Sub Service, or Secret Service, Groton, Connecticut. He served aboard the USS SSBN 619, the Andrew Jackson USS/SSBN 635, Sam Rayburn and the USS/SSN 588 Scamp.
The Missouri Freedom Quilters have made over 150 Quilts of Valor for veterans in Atchison County. These quilts are registered to Quilts of Valor with the recipient’s name. The group operates solely on donations to their project. They have been able to do this through the generous donations of businesses and individuals in and around our community.
