The Atchison County Library hosted two public information meetings Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to unveil plans for its new construction project. Led by architects from Creal Clark & Seifert Architects/Engineers, Inc., the meetings drew in community members eager to learn about the future of their local library.

The first session took place at 12:00 p.m. at the Tarkio Resource Center in Tarkio, and a second session followed at 5:00 p.m. at the Atchison County Memorial Building in Rock Port. During these sessions, attendees were given a detailed look at library design renderings, structural plans, and the proposed timeline for the project.

Community involvement was a key focus of the discussions, with organizers encouraging residents to share ideas and voice any concerns. The architects also addressed potential challenges the project might face and outlined solutions to ensure smooth progress.

Library board members, staff, and architects emphasized their excitement about creating a modern, welcoming space that would better serve the needs of Atchison County’s residents. The meetings were described as informal but highly informative, offering a unique opportunity for the public to engage directly with the project team.

For more information about the library project, community members were directed to visit the library’s website or contact the library staff directly.
