Susan Lyne Gomel, age 69, Fairfax, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home near Fairfax. She was born October 15, 1955, in Fairfax, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles T. and Lila L. (Hamman) Norton.

She was a graduate of Fairfax High School, Class of 1973. Susan was united in marriage to Harold Wayne Gomel, February 15, 1975, at the Fairfax Presbyterian Church. To this union two children were born, Ashley and David.

Susan worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for Fertilizer Service Company in Fairfax for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Methodist Church in Fairfax.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Norton (2012), and an infant sister, Cynthia. Susan is survived by her husband, Harold Gomel of the home, Fairfax; son, David (fiancée, Jackie Runde),  Fairfax; daughter, Ashley (Kaleb) Oelze, Ravenwood, Missouri; four granddaughters, Quindalyne, Lynleigh, Emberlyn, and Karlyne Oelze; sister, Janice (Chuck) Carpenter, Rock Port, Missouri; her mother, Lila Norton, Fairfax; nieces and nephews; and a host of other friends and loved ones.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Fairfax Methodist Church, Fairfax, officiated by Rev. Brad Dush. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax. Memorials may be directed to the Fairfax Methodist Church, Fairfax, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home, Fairfax.
