The Tarkio Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Boundless Grace, 402 Main Street in Tarkio. There will also be an open house with refreshments. Cassie Shaw, Jami DeRosier, and Mandy Whipple are owners of the new business.

Free summer meals for all kids and teens will begin again May 16. Meals are free to children under the age of 18 and adults coming with a child can eat free, thanks to Community Services and will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Tarkio Nutrition Center, 412 Main Street. Call 660-736-5725 for more information. Kids in the Kitchen will be back again this year. Fun and interactive cooking classes will be held every Thursday at 12:00 noon.

The alumni of Atchison County will be gathering this month. The 105th annual Fairfax High School Alumni Banquet will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the high school. The Westboro High School Alumni Banquet will take place Saturday, May 17, at 12:00 noon at the new Westboro Fire Station, at the west end of Main Street.

The Fairfax and Rock Port Classes of 2025 will celebrate their commencement ceremonies this Sunday, May 18. Fairfax graduation will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the high school gym. Rock Port graduation will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the high school. Congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2025!
