The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) board met May 14, 2025, at Community Hospital-Fairfax. Present were: Lori Seymour, Mary Ann Hull, Eryn Stepp, W.C. Farmer, Craig Corken, and Bob Alldredge, board members; and Monica Bailey, director.

Lori Seymour called the meeting to order

The April meeting minutes were approved.

The April financials were also approved as presented.

Bob Alldredge motioned that ACDC should use the redemption of Citizens Bank & Trust CD #6502 ($60,681.74), the redemption of Citizens Bank & Trust  CD #6428 ($25,936.99), and $10,000.00 from the primary checking account to open a $96,618.73 CD (7-month CD at 3.75%) at Citizens Bank & Trust, which will list Lori, Craig, Bob, and Monica as signers. This was approved.

Director Report

Several ACDC grants have funds remaining this year:

• Business Improvement ($1,000-$2,500 per grant), $10,000 left, $3,500 paid out

• Nonprofit (max $2,500 per grant), $6,000 left, $2,500 paid out

• Community Cleanup & Beautification ($25-$500 per grant), $1,000 awarded, $500 left

New Business

The group discussed new ways ACDC could assist businesses, including helping them better equip their employees, and clarified that Business Improvement Grant funds could be used for employee training purposes.
