The descendants of David Rankin gathered for lunch at A Place on Main in Tarkio during the celebration of his 200th birthday and the rebirth of Tarkiesta.

Al Rankin, the great-great-grandson of David Rankin, introduced the family members who were present. He also gave a brief history of David Rankin’s life before and after he moved to Atchison County.

Sheriff Andrew Riley leads the parade with a team of mules pulling the Rankin family to the Tarkio Tech campus.

The Tarkio Rotary Club joined in the fun with their float.

For the 200th birthday of David Rankin, several of the descendants of the Rankin family were on hand to help with the celebration.

Dave Lee was the winner of the Tarkio Presbyterian Women’s quilt. Linda and Dave Lee are pictured with the quilt.
