When Donovan Spears and Dara Whipple with A Place On Main took the soffit off of the front of their building recently, they discovered the original paint job of one of the many former occupants of the building at 509 Main Street in Tarkio. The logo says Roy Redfern & Sons, which was a body shop owned by Roy and Allie Redfern and sons, Jim and Bob. Roy opened the shop in 1945 and moved it to the 509 Main Street location in 1958. Roy passed away in 1962 and the boys kept the business running until 1968.
