Make plans to attend the Wingnuts Flying Circus Air Show at the Gould Peterson Municipal Airport in Tarkio Saturday, July 12, 2025. Admission is $10 for ages six and up. People flying planes in and attendees five and under are free. The fly-in breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. (food will be served through lunch). A congressional aviation town hall meeting will be held at the EAA hangar at 10:00 a.m. The air show will begin at 12:00 noon.

The East Atchison Wolves Cross Country Team will be hosting its third annual Run With the Wolves 5K Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Tarkio, Missouri. The event begins at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Tarkio Activity Center (TAC). The next Second Harvest mobile food pantry in Atchison County will be Monday, July 14, at Rock Port High School, 600 S. Nebraska Street in Rock Port, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Vehicles should drive east on Calhoun Street along the north side of the school. Supplies are limited, but the food is free to the public. There are no income guidelines.

The Atchison County Fair will take place next week, July 14-19, in Rock Port. The 4-H Achievement Day will kick things off on Monday, July 14, at the Velma Houts Fair Building. The livestock shows will be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in the arena behind the Velma Houts building. The parade will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a greased pig contest at the fairgrounds at 11:00 a.m. Come out to the fair and support our local youth, exhibitors, and organizers!
