The East Atchison girls’ golf team hosted a fundraising youth golf tournament at Tarkio Golf Course Thursday morning, July 24, 2025. Even with the rain, 14 children participated, getting in three to four holes of golf. Participants included, from left to right: first row – Mame Dow, Jo Hurst, Gigi Vette, Emmett Reeves, Sage Sundermann, and Simon Piveral; and back row – Wendy Hurst, Ryann Salmond, Kenisyn Yost, Abbi Umbarger, Emmett Umbarger, Aiden Pritt, and Aspyn Fast. Not pictured is Stason Sundermann. The kids were divided into age divisions, second through fifth grade and sixth through eighth grade. Winners were: 2nd-5th grade boys – (1st) Sage Sundermann and (2nd) Emmett Reeves; 2nd-5th grade girls – (1st) Jo Hurst and (2nd) Abbi Umbarger; 6th-8th grade boys – (1st) Aiden Pritt and (2nd) Emmett Umbarger; and 6th-8th grade girls – (1st) Aspyn Fast and (2nd) Ryann Salmond.
