A farmer’s market has been set up at the Richard and Helen Burkey residence right before the curve as you head south out of Tarkio at 20564 U.S. Hwy. 59 (use the north driveway). They will be open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. They have watermelons, cantaloupes, cabbages, tomatoes, and peaches. Since these photos were taken, the Burkeys have purchased a refrigerated truck, which will keep the food that needs to stay cool fresh.
