The City of Fairfax Board of Aldermen held a regular meeting August 20, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Tabitha Wintz, mayor, at 6:00 p.m. Others in attendance were: Debra Wyatt, Ryan Kingery, Tristan Ray, and Stephanie Stevens, alderpersons; Christy Stevens, city clerk; John Brown, city employee; Terry Miller, city treasurer; and Kamron Woodring, public works superintendent.
The tentative agenda was approved.
Bill #2025-7 titled: An ordinance providing for the rate of taxation for general and special purposes within the city of Fairfax, Missouri for the calendar year 2025 was presented to the council and read by title by Tabitha Wintz. Debra Wyatt moved to approve Bill #2025-7 and Stephanie Stevens seconded. The motion passed unanimously and Bill #2025-7 was assigned Ordinance #2025-08-1578
The minutes of the regular meeting July 16, 2025, were approved, as well as accounts payable.
Old Business
The city council has continued to receive complaints and concerns with ATV and golf cart vehicles around town. The council looked at the current ordinance in place for all-terrain, recreational off-highway and utility vehicles. After a short discussion it was decided to post the current ordinances for all vehicles on Facebook.
MOCAAT is still in the works for the city. The city clerk is working with Jason Hoffman from MOCAAT to work on financials and see where they could invest extra money. Christy should have more information at the next council meeting.
New Business
The council discussed a few properties around town having ordinance violations. Christy will send letters.
Staff Reports
Terry Miller, city treasurer, reported to the council that all accounts are in balance.
Kamron Woodring, public works superintendent, reported that they fixed a ditch and patched some holes around town.
Christy Stevens, city clerk, reported that the auditor suggested to start getting receipts when gas or diesel is purchased. She also updated the council about a nuisance property.
Board members voted to go into executive session at 7:00 p.m. to discuss personnel.
The council came out of executive session at 7:40 p.m.
The regular meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. The next meeting is September 17 at 6:00 p.m.
