The East Atchison Lady Wolves will host their first official home competition Thursday, September 4, at 5:30 p.m. at the TAC. The junior varsity and varsity will host Union Star. The Lady Wolves will also host a varsity tournament Saturday at the TAC beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Fairfax Marching Pride will be marching down Main Street in Fairfax Friday, September 5, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. in full uniform to kick off their marching season. Their first parade is Saturday, September 6, at 1:00 p.m. at the Popcorn Day Parade in Hamburg, Iowa.

The Fairfax Improvement Foundation will sponsor a ribbon cutting at KG Buds Designs By Jay at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 5. The flower shop, located at 119 E. Main Street in Fairfax, welcomes everyone to the celebration. The store will stay open until 6:00 p.m. that evening. The Rock Port Blue Jay football team will host Princeton in the Blue Jays’ first home game of the season Friday, September 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Blue Jay Stadium.

A ribbon cutting for You With A New View will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 402 Main Street in Tarkio. An open house will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be refreshments, giveaways, and tours.

The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) invites you to attend the 2025 annual meeting on Wednesday, September 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Velma Houts Building in Rock Port. Everyone is welcome at 5:30 p.m. to visit with new businesses, neighbors, and friends. A complimentary dinner, catered by Groovy’s Grub (along with cupcakes by Among 3 Measures-Melissa Heintz), will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by the annual celebration of Atchison County’s pride points. In addition to recognition of business ventures and an ACDC update, you will hear from Atchison County graduates who chose to build their futures here.
