The Lady Jays won the pool 1 trophy at the inaugural Pony Express Classic in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Rock Port volleyball team played in the inaugural Pony Express Girls Volleyball State Preview Classic, sponsored by the St. Joseph Sports Commission. The Lady Jays started Friday with a 2-1 win over West Platte, and 2-0 over Cameron. On Saturday, they beat Plattsburg 2-1 and lost to Mid-Buchanan 2-1. With Rock Port’s record of 3 and 1 in Pool 1, the Jays would bring home the first place trophy. Their next game will be Thursday, September 4, in a conference matchup against Mound City.
