
Charlotte Miller, age 87, Fairfax, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Charlotte was born on September 23, 1937, in Fairfax. She was the daughter of the late Loyd B. and Ora B. (Pendergrass) Hayes. She was a graduate of Fairfax R-3 High School, Fairfax.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Laverne “Tom” Miller in Fairfax on May 27, 1955. To this union three children were born, Debbie, Terry, and Doug.
Charlotte and Tom were the co-owners of Miller Auto Supply and Repair in Fairfax. Charlotte kept the books for the business 37 years. Her first priority was being a homemaker for her family.
An active member of the community, she was involved in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 49’s Hobby Club, Community Betterment, and the Fairfax Merchants. Her memberships included the Fairfax Baptist Church and the Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom (May 2, 2008); brother James E. Hayes; and sisters Cleta Lawrence, Rita Dunkle, and Francis Dunkle.
Survivors include her children, Debbie (David) Hoffman, Terry Miller, and Doug (Lea Anne) Miller; grandchildren, Aimee (Dave) Riley, Brandee (Chad) Graves, Keaton (Mallory) Hawkins, Tyson (Megan) Miller, and Chelsea (Adam) Bean; great-grandchildren, Owen (Jordan) Riley, Lucas Riley, Levi Graves, Kannon and Michaela Hawkins, and Dexter, Lottie and Belle Miller; two brothers, Jerry (Lola) Hayes and Paul “Shorty” Hayes; and nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and loved ones.
Graveside services and burial were held Thursday, September 4, 2025, in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax, officiated by Pastor Rick Sons. Memorials may be given to the Fairfax Baptist Church or AseraCare Hospice (301 East Price, Savannah, MO 64485). Arrangements were under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home, Fairfax/Craig.
