On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the moon came up over the corn field in front of the home of W.C. and Shauna Farmer in Rock Port, Missouri. It was a beautiful sight. This was called a blood moon. This happens when the typical whitish-looking moon becomes red or ruddy brown, like orange. It can happen during a total lunar eclipse, when the moon is fully in Earth’s shadow and a little bit of light from Earth’s sunrises and sunsets falls on the surface, making it appear red.
