
Community Hospital-Fairfax in Fairfax, Missouri, has announced that Dr. Marcie Shea is now the board-certified psychiatrist for the hospital’s Senior Life Solutions program.
Community Hospital-Fairfax’s Senior Life Solutions program is an intensive group counseling program for individuals over age 65 and aims to provide assistance to people who are dealing with emotional or behavioral issues often related to aging. Following an individual assessment, group participants meet three times per week in a supportive and encouraging setting. The program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, a licensed social worker, a registered nurse, and other professionals dedicated to the emotional well-being of the seniors in our community. Dr. Shea graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2008. She began an exemplary mental healthcare career caring for older adults in rehabilitation centers, private psychiatric practices, hospitals, and veterans homes. She has published peer-reviewed psychiatric research and is a member of good standing with three esteemed medical associations. Dr. Shea can provide a confidential assessment to determine if your patient or loved one is eligible for the Senior Life Solutions program. Anyone can make a referral to the program, including self-referrals, primary care physicians, specialists, family members, friends, community groups, or nursing and residential facilities.
