Join the library for family fun, story time, crafts, and snacks at the Third Thursdays event at the Tarkio Library at 10:00 a.m. Thursdays, September 18, October 16, November 20, and December 18. Each event will feature a seasonal theme made for all ages. These programs are for children up to 4 years of age and their parents or guardians.

Fairfax Legion Post #284 will hold a cook-out fundraiser Saturday, September 20, in front of Fairfax City Hall at 201 E. Main Street. Legion members will serve hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, and chips from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Stop by for lunch and support the Fairfax American Legion!

The 41st annual Old Fashioned Saturday Night will be held September 20, 2025. The event is held on Main Street in Rock Port. The festivities will start at 5:00 p.m. with “The Star Spangled Banner” near the Atchison County Memorial Building. The Rock Port Tourism Board will hold the ping pong ball drop following the national anthem. Registration for the Little Tuggers Tractor Pull will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the pull will start at 6:30 p.m. The tractor pull will again be at the intersection of Opp and Main.

The Rock Port Ministerial Alliance will host a community worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, September 21, at the Atchison County Memorial Building in Rock Port, Missouri. Everyone is invited. There will be a potluck dinner following the service.

Paul Hankins, who is retired from the U.S. Navy and is the Director of Salvage Operations and Navy Supervisor of Salvage and worked on the salvage operations of both the Titan submersible implosion and the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse, will be speaking at Tarkio Tech. Listen to Paul, whose wife and mother-in-law are former Tarkio residents and Tarkio College students, share about his life and work. He will give a presentation at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 22, at the Rotary Theatre in the Curnutt Center on the Tarkio Tech campus. The event is open to all.
