Platte Valley traveled to Blue Jay Stadium Friday, September 19, looking to upset the Jays. Rock Port would receive the ball to start the game and on their opening drive put 8 points on the board, with a touchdown by Brock Holmes from five yards out, followed by a 2-point conversion. On the kick-off Platte Valley returned the ball to the 15-yard line when it was knocked loose by Jadyn Geib and recovered by Case Millsap to give the Jays great field position. Three plays later, wideout Jack Meyerkorth found the endzone for 6 points and Holmes scored the 2-point conversion. This brought the score to 16-0. Rock Port’s defense came through big with another fumble recovery by Gabe Gebhards to give the Jays great field position once again. On a 15-yard run Holmes tacked on 6 more points, followed by a 2-point conversion. With two minutes remaining in the first quarter the Jays led by 24 points. This would continue throughout the first half as the Jays would tack on 26 more points making the score 40-8 and halftime.

The varsity added 14 more points in the second half before the JV squad took the field and continued the dominating performance, bringing the final score to 76-26.

Rock Port will travel to Stewartsville this Friday to take on the WildCards.
