I would like to thank the community of Rock Port and all of the first responders who helped bring the two young ladies back home. It is because of the swift action of the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol along with numerous agencies that this was made possible.

For the parents, first hug your children and then start having a conversation. Find out what games they play online, find out who they are talking to. This is not ok that a predator was able to enter our community and abduct two of our children. These conversations are not easy but they are very important. These people will stop at nothing to entice a young child into doing things we would never think we should have to worry about. The online games and the social media apps won’t protect them, so it is our job to have these conversations. The evil that is out there does not care what they must do to convince our children to go with them. This is the second time in two years for our area that we know about. Let’s make it the last.
