The Atchison County Library is excited to announce a new partnership with Luke Therapy Services, aimed at promoting early literacy and speech development among children in the community. As part of this collaboration, Luke Therapy Services has generously donated two new read-aloud VoxBooks, “Save the Orca” and “Gus the Bus,” to support children’s language growth and communication skills. VoxBooks are books that talk, with read-aloud features, dynamic voices and sounds.

“Language is the foundation of literacy skills, and speech sound development supports reading and spelling. Luke Therapy Services is proud to partner with the Atchison County Library and help bring a variety of book options to all learners,” said Renae Luke, MHS, CCC-SLP Speech-Language Pathologist and owner of Luke Therapy Services, LLC.

The donated books were care-fully chosen for their engaging storytelling and interactive language. Both titles feature vivid vocabulary, repetition, and fun storylines that make them excellent tools for parents, educators, and therapists to use in supporting children’s speech development.

Atchison County Library Director Jennifer Danley expressed her gratitude for the donation, saying, “We are so thankful to Luke Therapy Services for their thoughtful donation and support of our youngest learners. These books will help children develop important speech and language skills while discovering the joy of reading. Partnerships like this make a real difference in our community.”

Families are encouraged to visit the Atchison County Library to check out “Save the Orca” and “Gus the Bus” and explore more resources that support children’s speech and literacy development.
