The Westboro Methodist Church hosted its 85th Lord’s Acre Festival and Thanksgiving Worship Service October 11 and 12, 2025. On Saturday, there were several fun activities held at the church, including a cake contest, auction, thrift shop, baby show, lunch and dinner, and kid and adult games.

The auction included several items up for bid, including mums, pumpkins, and decor and the cake contest showcased cakes made by adults and children (including Leightyn Laur’s cake, above).

Several cars, motorcycles, farm machinery, and fire trucks drove in the parade.

Participating in this year’s Lord’s Acre Day Parade were Tammy and Jeff Hall carrying the colors while riding their horses (above) and the Tarkio Marching Indians marching down Main (below).

The Westboro Methodist Church observed their 85th Lord’s Acre Day with a parade, cake contest, auction, the children’s and adult games, and lunch and dinner. Kerry Sue (Riley) Million was selected to be the Grand Marshal of the parade for 2025.
Kerry is one of seven children born to William and Georgia Riley. They moved to Atchison County from the Ozarks and she graduated from Tarkio High School.
Kerry moved to Westboro when she married Keith Flack. They had four children – David, Angela, Tami, and Jon. She liked Westboro and with the family attended Westboro Methodist Church. Keith and Kerry divorced.
Kerry has lived in western Nebraska, and in Sedalia, Ozarks, Tarkio, Fairfax, and now Rock Port, Missouri. She has an extensive career in health care. On retirement her position was Vice-President of Operations for Bristol Care, Sedalia. Being a girl of many talents, in the intervening years she was also cattle accountant at a 20,000 head cattle yard. When the cowboys failed to show up for work, she put on her boots and was a cowgirl.
Kerry married to Lennis Million, and he died in 2020. With their blended families there are 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, with two more due very soon.
After returning to Atchison County, Kerry visited the Westboro church and stayed. She particularly enjoys the “Sisters in Spirit” women’s group. Though the honored marshal of the 85th Lord’s Acre Day, she was in the kitchen working to serve the wonderful, delicious dinner the ladies pull off every year!
Another special moment on Lord’s Acre Day was that she and her faily were all able to be together. Her son, Jon Flack, from Greeley, Colorado, served as auctioneer, with other family members lending a hand. For those who remember David and Margaret Flack, faithful members of the Westboro Methodist Church, they are grandparents to the clan.
Congratulations, Kerry Sue Million, on being Westboro’s 85th Lord’s Acre Day Grand Marshal!
