Corbin Wallace, 16, a junior at Rock Port High School, was the first successful hunter of the 2025 Missouri black bear season. The season opened Saturday, October 18, and runs through October 31. Corbin was hunting with his grandfather, Robert Wallace, on opening day when Corbin harvested this estimated 300 pound boar (male bear) on private land in Douglas County. There are three black bear management zones in Missouri and hunters applied in May to be entered in a random drawing for bear hunting permits in a specific zone. (Submitted photo)
