Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) coordinates a number of workforce programs that connect students with opportunities in their county. In addition to local career awareness, ACDC knows that leadership and volunteerism must be cultivated. With this goal in mind, ACDC offers the #MakeACBeautiful youth grant program, which awards up to $500 to a beautification project in each of the three school district areas on a first-come, first-served basis.  Applications can be submitted any time, and projects must be completed by July 31, 2026.

These will be youth-led projects, with a group of at least three young people (age 17 and under) with an adult “sponsor” to assist and guide.  Projects will beautify areas not on school grounds. Past projects have included flowers and landscaping, installing street planters, murals, cleaning and upgrading park equipment, and other improvements.
