The Fairfax Kiwanis Club has rescheduled its annual Election Day Pancake Feed to Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The pancake feed will be held at the Fairfax Fire Station Community Room. Free will donations will be accepted. There will be two different serving times for this fundraising effort. Stop by for lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will be used for youth and community projects.

The Atchison County Artisans group is hosting its fourth annual Holiday Makers Market at Tarkio Tech Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. This fun event provides an opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts made by local artisans.

The next Second Harvest mobile food pantry in Atchison County will be Monday, November 10, at Rock Port High School, 600 S. Nebraska Street in Rock Port, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The public is invited to attend the Ralph Greer American Legion Post’s Harvest Celebration soup supper Tuesday, November 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Atchison County Memorial Building, 417 S. Main, Rock Port, Missouri. Veterans may eat for free and free-will donations will be accepted for all other diners.

Due to the government shutdown and budget cuts, the local food pantries and senior centers are in need of donations so that they can continue to help local citizens. Please consider donating to the food pantries in Tarkio and Rock Port and to the senior centers in Tarkio and Rock Port as well.

Kaleigh and Zach added a son to our family on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Holton Zachary Swaringim was welcomed home by big brother Huxlee. We can’t wait to see what you will teach him.
