Kenneth James Lane, the son of Harry and Viola (Mead) Lane, was born March 16, 1931, in Percival, Iowa. He attended Watson High School, Watson, Missouri, graduating in 1949. Kenneth entered the United States Marines and served his country during the Korean War.

On February 21, 1959, Kenneth was united in marriage to Grace Clara Gillinwater in Hamburg, Iowa. They made their home south of Rock Port, Missouri, in the Langdon community. For 27 years, they farmed for George and Daisy Opp in Nishnabotna, Missouri.

In 1990, Kenneth moved to west of Fairfax, Missouri, and farmed until 1993 when he moved to St. Joseph, Missouri. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for Scott Critchfield.

Kenneth enjoyed working on trucks, hunting, and trapping mink. Kenneth passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, in St. Joseph, at the age of 94.

Besides his parents and wife, Grace Lane, Kenneth was preceded in death by brother, Vernon Lane, and brother-in-law, Morris Andrew. Survivors include granddaughters, Madison Lane, Pennsylvania, and Rylyn Lane, St. Joseph; sister, La Verta Andrew, Rock Port, Missouri; and nephew, Michael Burg, New York, New York.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Wyuka Cemetery, Nebraska City, Nebraska, conducted by Mr. Scott Critchfield. Military honors will be under the auspices of Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49. There is no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Kenneth Lane Memorial Fund for his granddaughters.
