Seven members of the Allen-Schiffern Unit 199 met on November 10, 2025.
Judy gave an opening prayer.
Michaelle led us in the pledge to our flag and the Preamble to the constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Barb read the October minutes, which were accepted.
Sheridan gave the treasurer’s report, which was accepted.
Our new stove arrived in time to be used for our community turkey dinner. Thanks to Tim Morehouse and Meek and Sons for getting it set up and hooked up. It was so nice to heat up more than two kettles at a time.
We are still looking for a shipping container to be placed outside the Legion building to be used as storage.
The district meeting will be November 15 in Burlington Junction. We will have a bazaar/auction with proceeds going to the district budget.
A report on the turkey dinner was given by Sheridan. She is waiting on all the bills/receipts to come in before she can report on how well we did. Members were asked if there were any concerns or suggestions for improvements. None given.
Six members will be going to the Cameron Veterans Home December 10 to help the residents shop for Christmas gifts for themselves and their caregiver. Then we will wrap their gifts along with other Legion and auxiliary members.
A date for County Government Day has not been set.
All members were asked to tally their hours and money spent for their community service activities. If you have not reported any hours at our meetings, please call Linda by February 3.
We worked on our list of donations and will be making our monetary gifts throughout the next weeks.
The Wounded Warrior Guide Service will be here in March. The Legion has asked the auxiliary to make desserts for their meal.
No further business was brought forward.
Judy gave a closing prayer and the meeting was adjourned by Linda.
The next meeting will be in February.
