Rock Port Food Pantry

The Rock Port Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is low on the following items: bottles of floor cleaner (23 oz. or smaller), toilet cleaner, disinfectant wipes, shaving cream (men’s and women’s), body wash (men’s and women’s), bottles of laundry detergent (56 oz. smaller), beef stew, Raisin Bran cereal, vegetable oil (48 oz. or smaller), stuffing mix, Chicken Helper (chicken fried rice), saltine crackers, Tuna Helper (tetrazzini), Hamburger Helper (cheeseburger mac).

The food pantry will be open  Friday, November 28, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, December 2, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon; Friday, December 12, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, December 16, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon; and Friday, December 26, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Donations can be taken to the Rock Port United Methodist Church, 211 W. Opp, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and placed in the shopping cart. Monetary donations may be mailed to the Rock Port Ministerial Alliance, P.O. Box 164, Rock Port, MO 64482.

Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry

The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry is currently low on the following items: Grape juice (64 oz.), cereal, brownie mix, flour (5 lbs.), creamy peanut butter (16 oz.), Hamburger Helper, pork and beans, Blue Bonnet margarine (lb. sticks), ground beef (1 lb. pkgs.), and toilet paper.

The Tarkio Christian Church will open the pantry November 20. In December, the board members will open the pantry from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on December 9, 11, 16, and 18. On Tuesday, December 9, the pantry will also be open in the evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In December, coupons for hams will be distributed according to the family size. Families of one to three will receive a coupon for half of a ham. Families with four or more will receive a coupon for a whole ham. Clients must take their coupons to the Tarkio Hy-Vee to be redeemed.

If schools are closed due to inclement weather, the food pantry is also closed. If the schools experience a two-hour delay, the food pantry will delay opening until 10:00 to noon.

The food pantry is located at 315 Main Street in Tarkio.
