Rhett, Coy, and Knox Murphy took time to visit with Santa at Fairfax Light Night.

 

Fairfax held its annual Light Night Saturday, November 29, 2025. Chloe Vernon, this year’s Miss Fairfax, turned on the lights for the displays at the city park.

 

Bob and Marilyn Alldredge won first place in the lighting contest with this beautiful display.

 

Fairfax Improvement Foundation placed second in the lighting contest.

 

The Fairfax Methodist Church placed third with this nativity scene.

 

Little Miss Fairfax Chanleigh Clement and Junior Miss Fairfax Ava Oswald led the group in a song at Light Night. Sam O’Riley, left, organized the event. She was assisted by Jill Kingery.

 

Santa Claus and Zola Straub had a serious discussion at Fairfax Light Night.

 

Fairfax celebrated the beginning of the holiday season with the annual Light Night festivities Saturday, November 29.

Miss Fairfax 2025 Chloe Vernon had the honor of turning the Christmas lights on at the Fairfax City Park, but due to the weather the event was held at the Fairfax R-3 School.

Little Miss Fairfax Chanleigh Clement and Junior Miss Fairfax Ava Oswald also added to the festivities by leading the group in “Jingle Bells.”

Hi-Step TNT helped with games. Prizes and goodies were awarded to 52 youth, and the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department brought Santa to visit with the excited youngsters.

Winners of the park’s lighting contest were announced. Display winners were: first place, Bob and Marilyn Alldredge; second place, Fairfax Improvement Foundation; and third place, Fairfax Methodist Church.

Businesses and individuals making donations to provide prizes were Amelia Larson, Daybreak Café, Baylee Ray, Carlock family, Doug and LeAnn Miller, Fairfax Agency, Fairfax Improvement Foundation, Kent Fisher, Fairfax Kiwanis Club, Maher family, Fairfax Optimist Club, Lane and Aimeé Seymour, Suzanne Southard, and the Wintz family.
